Sock in stock: Don't throw away your socks, recycle them!

Every year, countless grip socks are abandoned and discarded in amusement parks. We decided to take action and encourage our partner parks to support the Sock en Stock association!

This is a volunteer association that recycles unused, orphaned or abandoned socks to give them to the most needy or send them to textile recycling platforms.

The sock recycling association

Located in Lille, the association was founded by two co-founders who successfully met the challenge of assembling a team of 39 volunteer members.

Faced with the number of unused socks and the lack of access to this item for the most disadvantaged, Sock en Stock's mission is to facilitate the connection between supply and demand.

The aim of this approach is to enable access to comfort for all, but also to increase the lifespan of textile products.

The volunteer collection

The association has been able to set up a network of collection points throughout France (businesses, associations, schools, etc.).

Once received, the socks are washed, disinfected, sorted and then paired by volunteers in sorting workshops.

Items that cannot be distributed are sent to textile recycling platforms.

Since 2017, very close to 36,000 pairs have been distributed.

Guidelines for amusement parks

We know that thousands of grip socks are discarded in trampoline parks every year. If you'd like to donate, it's very easy!

Simply sort all the socks left in your playpen by size and, if possible, by pair. Orphaned socks should be in good condition (clean, dry, without holes or stains).
